COVID 19 Regulations for Therapy Sessions

As the COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease within the UK, people are beginning to make preparations to return to receiving hypnotherapy. I understand from those of you that are in contact, just how difficult the United Kingdom lockdown has been. you’ll be glad to hear that the Goole Hypnotherapy is now open once more.

Measures also are being put into place for both your and my safety.

COVID 19 Safety Measures

2 Metre Social Distancing

The office is now embarked on using the two-metre social distancing rules. As a result, all touch therapy is going to be on hold until restrictions are fully eased or a secure and practical solution is found. The office is spacious enough so this isn’t a problem. If you’re hard of hearing then it’d be better for you to give time until the 1-metre rule is in situ.

Bring Your Own Drinks

One of the restrictions that are in situ is that clients aren’t allowed to be given a drink. this will be to stop any risk from me to you when handling a glass or a cup. I’d always advise that you simply have a drink as shifting energies around and releasing any traumas tends to dehydrate the body. Most clients tend to appreciate that they have a drink of water after the session is completed. I am going to be using my very own bottle and that I would recommend an equivalent for you.

Hand Cleansing

Hand sanitiser is out there for you once you arrive. Please use this to assist me to keep me safe while I’m at work. Clean hands are shown to create a great difference. There also are toilet facilities available for you to use to clean your hands once you arrive if you would like.

Temperature Checks

Upon arrival, I will be able to test your temperature with a forehead scanner. This helps to see if you’re carrying COVID-19 but aren’t showing symptoms. Being asymptomatic means you’re still spreading the virus without showing any symptoms Temperature checks help us both to keep safe and also keeps the office area safe.

Deep Cleaning

The office is going to be deep cleaned before your arrival and also after you exit. This helps to stay everyone using the space safer. Sanitiser sprays are used on all hard surfaces and also on the furniture within the space to stop anyone becoming ill from viral shedding.

No High-Risk People Allowed Within the Office.

For now, the govt doesn’t want people that are within the “at-risk” category to be receiving face to face therapy. If you think you would possibly fall under that category for any reason, please let me know before you attend a session or consultation. If you’re in danger, you’ll have sessions by Skype. I will be able to offer a £20 per session discount for anyone wishing to require online sessions.

How Long Will These Measures be in Situ For?

These new measures are getting to be in situ for the foreseeable future. When the govt announces a change and that I also feel it’s in yours and my best interests, restrictions are going to be eased. For now, I just want to be sure that you can get the hypnotherapy that you need which we will both do safely.

Arachnophobia. How Hypnotherapy Can Stop You Being Afraid of Spiders

Arachnophobia can vary from person to person.  Some get away with just feeling uncomfortable around spiders.  Some people are absolutely terrified of spiders and can't be in the same room as them.  Everyone's version of arachnophobia is different and unique to them.  If you are one of the ones that just feels uncomfortable around spiders, you're much less likely to look at having hypnotherapy.  If you are afraid of spiders and can't be in the same room as them, you really need to be looking at hypnosis as a way of curing your spider phobia.

If you are one of these people that runs away from spiders, you will know how debilitating it can be.  You are in panic mode, screaming and totally afraid.  It's not a great way to feel when you come across a spider.

Plus on top of that, all spiders to you seem to have some sort of flashing beacon on their heads.  Yelling "I'm HERE!!!"

You are going to see spiders that most people are totally unaware of.  Because you have arachnophobia, your mind is on alert for them. It's knows all of the places that they can hide and where spiders might appear from.  And it is constantly scanning those areas.

What is Arachnophobia?

Arachnophobia, as spoken about in Wikipedia, is the unreasonable fear of spiders and other arachnids such as scorpions.  This fear can cause many symptoms and people can react to spiders in a variety of ways.

Knowing that you are much bigger than the spider doesn't bring any relief.  Some call the fear irrational, and yet, I  say that no fear is irrational.

You have a fear that is triggered by seeing, hearing about or sensing a spider.  When that fear comes, it is very real for you and your reaction is programmed.  

There is always a reason behind this fear just like all other fears.

Why Am I Afraid of Spiders?


You are more than likely afraid of spiders because you have seen someone else that has a fear of spiders.  They reacted to a spider in a way that showed fear and you learned that behaviour from them. 

Sorry mothers, but you are going to take the heat on this one.  

It's normally from your mum being afraid of spiders.  When you are very young, you see them scream and/or run away from a spider.  This then imprints into your subconscious mind that the tiny little spider is something to be very afraid of.  You are now conditioned to be afraid when you see a spider.

Now that you have been conditioned to be afraid of spiders, you react in the way that you have been programmed to react.  You repeat this program again and again.  Over time, you have a fully functioning "reaction programming" to follow when you see a spider.

Now you label yourself as having arachnophobia.

Really, all you have is a conditioned response that doesn't serve you.  Hypnotherapy is great at changing how you respond to many things.  Hence why I recommend hypnotherapy for arachnophobia.

Arachnophobia Symptoms

You will have your own symptoms of arachnophobia.  You will more than likely find them on this list provided by

  • Dizziness
  • Trembling and sweating
  • Feelings of losing control
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Hot or cold flashes
  • Chest pain
  • Nausea or other gastrointestinal distress

How Hypnotherapy Works

Hypnotherapy is an amazing tool to use to squash your spider phobia.  Hypnotherapy helps to open up the conditioned part of your mind.  Your subconscious mind is where all of your fears and beliefs live.  It is their little home.

Your subconscious mind is the powerhouse of your brain.  All of the automatic programs that your mind runs are also stored in there.  These are here so that you can get through your day without having to think about every little thing that you have to do.  Without these automatic programs we would spend nearly all day just focusing on breathing.

Hypnotherapy opens up your subconscious mind so that these programs and beliefs can be changed much easier.  

I use hypnotherapy without you needing to relive a traumatic memory.  You don't need to go to a painful memory and relive it.  Your subconscious mind is fully aware of what the cause is.  It is also aware of all of the beliefs you have that support you having arachnophobia.  The system I have developed removes the root cause and also any negative beliefs holding your fear of spiders in.

Anxiety Medication. Do You Need It?

I see so many people running towards anxiety medication these days.  Now don't get me wrong, when anxiety gets to such a level that you aren't able to cope, anxiety medication can be useful to help you settle down.  It can help you to get back down to a level where you are then able to do the therapeutic work to remove the anxiety.

Anxiety medication doesn't cure anxiety.  It never has and it never will.

Your doctor may be able to mark you off as resolved because you've walked out of the door with a box of tablets.  That doesn't mean that anxiety has gone for you.  This is the problem with relying on anxiety medication to solve your problems.

Your anxiety is a warning system.  A bit like a car alarm.  Your alarm goes off when your body and energy system don't feel safe.  That feeling of being unsafe is your real issue.  If you try to push it down and ignore it, it will add more walls around it and become stronger.

If you don't deal with the reasons why you're experiencing anxiety, you will still get anxiety.  No amount of anxiety medication will be able to fix that.

Hypnotherapy For Anxiety or Medication?

If you are wanting long term results, then you are going to have to do the inner work.  The best way to do this is to use hypnotherapy for anxiety.  Hypnotherapy gets to the root cause of your anxiety issue rather than trying to cover over the cracks.

The easiest thing that you can do is to try and run away from your anxiety.  Run away from your fear.  But where is that going to get you?

Each time that you let your anxiety win, you make the anxiety stronger.  You are empowering it and training it to control you.  Aren't you fed up of being controlled by anxiety?  Aren't you ready to stand up to it and fight back?

Dealing with the causes of your anxiety with hypnosis gives you that control.  It gives you the ability to be able to fight back.  To recognise when it is trying to play it's games with you and stop it in it's tracks.

Anger. Is It a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

Anger can be a big issue for a lot of people.  Anger management is still a hot topic and a useful one too.  We are told that anger is a bad emotion.  But is it really?

Believe it or not but it can also be a positive emotion.  Let me explain....

You may or may not remember the 80's.  A time when we had a massive worldwide charitable record by Band Aid, which was followed by the event called Live Aid.  This was created because of people becoming angry about the famine in Ethiopia and nothing being done to stop it from happening.  It was in fact being allowed to get worse.

That anger fuelled people to make massive changes and make something happen.  They created a movement that went around the world to help people who were in a truly terrible situation.  That is a large scale example of when anger can be a positive emotion.

When is Anger an Issue?

Anger is an issue when the emotion is allowed to become destructive.  When it leads to arguments and violence.  When people get hurt as a result of anger, that is when it is a negative emotion.

That isn't the fault of the emotion though.  That is the responsibility of the person to manage how they react to their feelings.

If you are hurting someone because of how you feel then you really need to look at getting some help with anger management.

How I Work With Anger Management

The first thing that we need to look at is clearing out the uncontrolled anger from your life.  That level of emotion is too much for you to handle at the moment.  By clearing it from your past, it then allows you to see the world differently.  It allows you to feel and react differently too.

Get clear of your anger and see your life change!

Then after that we go through reactions.  These are basically programs that are running automatically inside of you. 

You feel something --> You react a certain way.

​​These programs need to be changed to help you to utilise how you feel in a more positive way.  By changing these automatic programs, you are able to change the automatic reaction from a negative one, to a positive one.  That is where the true power comes from.  but first we have to clear out the anger.  The reprogramming can't happen without that first step.

After that I then work on building you up to a more powerful and empowered person.  I break down the old structure.  Then I build you an newer and better one.  You have no idea at the moment just how far this can take you.  The only way is to jump in and get started with your sessions.

PTSD. Is It Keeping You Trapped?

PTSD can cause so many issues for people.  From fear of loud noises to nightmares to having their mental health completely slide down the pan.

That was the case  for a guy that I worked with recently.  His PTSD was so bad that he was unable to leave the house.  Even if his friends came round he would feel really uncomfortable and nervous,  That was until he met me.

The guy that I worked with for PTSD had been stuck in his house for around 4 years.  He felt unable to go outside.

Before The PTSD Session

When I arrived at his home, his partner told me that he was so nervous about me being there that he had gone into his bedroom and that I would have to sit outside the door.  I saw him briefly while we were having our initial chat and then he laid down with the door blocking my view.  I wasn't allowed over the door strip and couldn't see him properly.

This is the first time that I've seen someone with PTSD to this level but I love a challenge!

So we had a chat from the other side of the door and he said that he was ready to go for it.  

After we finished working together he looked like a totally different person.  It was as if someone had taken the person that I saw at the beginning and exchanged him for another person.  He even said that he felt like he was getting back to his old self again.  It was a rapid transformation!  He couldn't wait to call his family and tell them the good news.

I recorded a little video in the Goole Hypnotherapy Facebook Page.  Within a couple of hours after recording that live video, I received a message from his partner.

He was out on the front garden playing with his son!

He hadn't been able to do that for some time.  His PTSD was vanishing quickly.  I received a message later that day saying that he was going to go shopping the next day which he did!
